Self Discipline vs Motivation

Motivation and discipline is crucial, if you want to get great results in any area of your life. If you haven't got motivation or discipline, in terms of bodybuilding you are never going to reach your goal.

I don't know about you, but the motivation part gets much tougher for me when the winter is approaching. It is completely dark outside, from the time you leave the house to when you come back home.
You haven't got the motivation you have in the summer, which makes the winter very though, if you are already struggling when the sun shines bright (almost sounded like a poem).

What I am trying to get through is; if motivation is lacking you have to increase your self discipline. If you take away motivation you have to fill up with discipline and vice versa.
This means that you have to be extra dedicated throughout the winter to keep up your good progress. Trust me, you will thank yourself when the summer is approaching again.

As you can see I have tried to explain what I mentioned with a drawing. The "progress weight" stays consistent the whole time. It is constantly, lets say, 100 kg.
The only weights that are changing are the Self Discipline and the Motivation weight. Those two weights have to add up to 100 kg in order for progress to happen.
So when the motivation weight gets lighter you have to compensate with self discipline, and when the motivation increases the self discipline goes down, because it is not needed as much.

For those of you who are just starting out, keep up the good work and never quit. Stay disciplined (or motivated).
