Foam Rolling

Some month ago, I promised you that I would write a review about foam rolling. It won't be a actual product review, but more my experience with foam rolling and how it has been helpful to me.

You have probably experienced muscle soreness or another form of muscle fatigue after a strenuous cardio or weight workout. What I have found most helpful about foam rolling is that it reduced muscle soreness.
You won't get rid of your muscle soreness simply by rolling over it when it occurs, but you have to do it right after your workout. By doing that, you are going to roll out any muscle knots and loosen up your muscle so your blood can circulate more easily and supply your muscles with nutrients.

That was pretty much the only reason I bought my foam roller for. It helps you recover much faster. But something that I have experienced along the way is that it feel amazing. Yes, it hurts a lot when you find those muscle knots, but just laying on it and extending your back around it actually feels really good. You make your spine more flexible in addition to loosen up your back muscles.

The last thing I want to mention is something that is relater to toxins. Toxins are stored in your muscles from the food you eat and many other things. Those toxins are stored in your muscles and many of them are set free by you, rolling your muscles with a foam roller. To get those toxins out of your body, it is a good idea to drink lots of water that day. You could probably at least drink a gallon of water on the days you are foam rolling.

Also, if you are thinking of buying a foam roller, I would suggest a foam roller with a stiff roll in the middle. I bought one of those that just consisted of foam and it is already misshapen. So go for the one with a hard/solid core.
