How long should your workout be? Or when others ask they usually mean; how long should you stay inside the gym?
To start of with me as an example. My workouts usually lasts from 45min to MAX 75min. I have found out that this is what works best for me. After those 60min my energy levels start to decrease and I just give medium effort on the exercises after the 60min mark. So when I train I stuff all my exercises inside those 60min.
So to answer the question, you have to do exactly the same thing. Try to workout and time it. How long does it takes before you get unmotivated and totally energy drained? That is how long your workout should last. It should last up until that time and no longer, because after that you are just wasting time.
So it really depends on the person. Some can only workout for 30min and some can go the whole day long, in that case I don't think it is necessary to go for longer than 90min.
Find your time and set that as an answer to how long you should work out.
