When I got home from school I just didn't feel like working out. Although i have a rest day today I am supposed to go out and do some cardio which usually is no big deal for me. I just do it, but not today.
Although days like that are looked down upon and seen as unproductive they are necessary if you want to make gains or improve your fitness. There has to be a balance. You cant just work out and don`t rest, you cant stay awake and not sleep and you cant reap without sowing - You have to have both sides.
And although it is so important to have a balanced approach many don`t think about that. They just work out and don`t remind themselves of that the body actually needs rest to recover. IT IS ESSENTIAL.
The thing I want to get over here is that as long as you are normally active and workout consistently every day, there is nothing wrong with taking a day off. The reason I said work out consistently every day, is because many people can use this as an excuse to not working out. It is not. It is giving your body what it needs after many days of strenuous exercise.
